The second and final closed-book exam will be given during the second hour of Thursday's class (July 30th). Same format as the first one. This exam is also non-cumulative (starts with pollution toxicity and ends with the end of Tuesday's lecture).

The first hour of Thursday's class will be a brief overview of global climate change (not on the exam!), followed by the instructor evaluations. There will be a short break, and then the closed-book exam.

Lab #3 is now available for download on the lab info page. It is due Tuesday, July 28th.

Take-home quiz #2 has been posted on the quiz page and is due Tuesday, July 28th.

Lab #3 is now available for download on the lab info page.

If you picked up your graded Exam #1 on Tuesday, July 14th and did not return it at the end of class, please bring it back for a possible minor re-score. Because a question got thrown out, I need to check if I need to add 5.5 points to your score.

Lab #3 will be available for download within the next day or so.

In-class Quiz #4 was given at the end of the first hour of class on Thursday, July 16th. This can be made up before class on Tuesday, July 21st. In-class Quiz #4 will be given at the end of the second class hour on Tuesday, July 21st.

Many of you did not pick up your third in-class quiz. Even though some of the questions were the same as those on the second one, there are a few that are new and might appear in some form on the exam. I have posted a key for this quiz on the quiz page--use the date link over on the lower right of the page.

The keys for the first take-home quiz and out-of-class quiz #2 have been posted on the quiz page (use the "KEY" link under the take-home quiz). Sorry about the delay--I had forgotten to pack my laptop Tuesday evening so I had no way of updating the website overnight.

The first closed-book exam will be given during the second hour of class on Thursday, July 9th. The first hour will be a regular lecture on pollution toxicity. The cutoff for Exam #1 is the end of pollution dispersion, just as we were starting pollution toxicity on Tuesday, July 7th.

7/2/09

In-class Quiz #2 ended up being part of the first take-home quiz package that is due on Tuesday, July 7th. This and the actual take-home quiz can be downloaded from the quiz page. If you are not going to be on campus on Tuesday to turn in the quizzes, you can email the responses (just the parts that go in the blanks) to me as plain text in a standard email message. DO NOT ATTACH documents to the email as the quiz--just type in the responses in a standard email message.

The third in-class quiz was given at the end of Thursday's (7/2/09) class. This can be made up before Tuesday's class.

The second lab assignment has been posted on the lab page. It is due Tuesday, July 14, 2009--the lecture after the first closed-book exam.

The podcast information has been corrected. If you had already tried subscribing to the podcasts prior to now, please "unsubscribe" from the podcast, delete the series title from you iTunes podcast list, then go to the updated podcast page on this site (reload/refresh it if necessary, so the ".rss" address refers to a "Summer_2009" address instead of "Winter"). Then "subscribe" again with the new address (or the new one-click link).

The second in-class quiz will be given at the end of the second hour of lecture on Tuesday, June 30th. Makeups of the first in-class quiz will be given before Tuesday's class begins, or during the mid-class break.
