Latest Cloud Sightings

Altostratus on February 6, 2012. The building is Boyer Hall. The globular appearance due to the variable thickness may suggest that this is stratocumulus, but the "watery" Sun is the determiner of this middle cloud (it may also be the scattered clouds that were observed around 9000 ft altitude that are those darker blobs in the bottom third of the photo).

Review session for Exam #1 is Friday, February 10th, 5-7 pm, in Franz 1178. Come and go as you please, but be aware that it might end early.

Next Monday, February 13th, is the first closed-book exam. Coverage is through material in Chapter 4, forces (includes some of lecture on Friday, February 10th). Exam structure is as announced in class. The in-lecture quiz from Wednesday, February 8th is part of the coverage of this exam (key has been posted on the quiz page).

Lab #2 has been posted on the lab page (click the green lab tab above). This, of course, is only for the students enrolled in the lab section 3L. It is due Friday, February 17th.
