Enhanced podcasts of the lectures (includes audio and computer screens) will be posted soon after each lecture. The best way to access them is by subscribing to the podcasts' RSS feed via iTunes or some other RSS reader. Or, if you are using Safari on MacOS, you can click on the RSS logo
in the location bar at the top of the browser window; if you are using Firefox on Windows or MacOS, you can click on the RSS speaker icon
in the location bar at the top of the window and enable a bookmark to the podcast list in your bookmark bar.
Use this URL for the subscription:

Or, click here to subscribe.

The podcast list should now show up in the directory and podcasts should automatically start downloading (if you are starting this late in the quarter, only the last few will automatically download; you might have to manually initiate the download of earlier ones in the list). If you do not get the entire list, you may have to modify the settings in the podcast preferences so that it will "keep all episodes")...

Or, maybe you just need to "reveal" the rest of the list. Click on the triangle in front of the title of the podcast set--it will turn downward and expand the podcast directory for this title:

Download the earlier podcasts by clicking on the "GET" button.
In iTunes, if you have the album art window "Now Playing" open, the electronic slides shown during lecture will flash by while the podcast plays. You can resize this window larger so it's easier to see the slides. Clicking directly on the window should create a resizable floating window with the video portion. This also works with videocasts, such as iTunes TV and podcasts that have actual video as opposed to static slides.

If you are directly accessing the podcast file through an RSS client or on Safari's or Firefox's podcast list, you'll be playing a QuickTime movie in a small window. You can make this window larger so you can see what's happening if you download the podcast file to your computer and play it there with QuickTime. Simply resize the window like any other window.

You can also download the podcast files to a Video iPod and watch it there (either download the files to your computer first, then download to the iPod, or sync your iPod to iTunes). Other iPod models should also be able to play the podcasts, except there will be no slide images (in other words, audio only). If you would prefer access to smaller podcast files where the slide images are optimized for the Video iPod, let Dr. Lew know and maybe that will be added to the web site.
