Another intersting quantity to look at is the surface cloud forcing. This is just the difference between the incoming radiation with and without clouds. I made the sign convention such that positive forcing is a warming effect and negative is a cooling effect. |

Turning away from the surface, we can also look at the greenhouse forcing. By looking at the clear-sky greenhouse forcing, it can give a sense for the contribution by water vapor to the total climate response. |
