UCLA Large Eddy Simulation Code

This page contains a link to a gzipped tape archive (tar) file containing the distribution of the UCLA Large-Eddy Simulation Code. The code is made available for all to use, distribute and call their own following the guidelines of the gnu public license. Important references to the code documenting its performance on a variety of benchmark cases developed by the GEWEX Cloud Systems Studies Boundary Layer Working Group can be found on my publication page. Please note, that the code is distributed without support, please read the code documentation for further details.

The right animation shows results of calculations that were performed to compare simulated entrainment rates with those deduced from observations during DYCOMS-II. Results from this project are described in Stevens et al., (2005, MWR, 133)
