- Dropsondes [download]:
This NetCDF file contains all of the DYCOMS dropsondes, interpolated to a vertical grid with a 2m spacing. Organized by flight number and dropset, where dropset is either 1 or 2 corresponding depending on whether sondes were dropped at beginning or near the end of the time on station. Data interpolated are theta, mixing ratio, u and v winds, pressure, lat and lon. Data was processed and complied by Verica Savic-Jovcic [email].
- Reduced Microphysical Spectra [download RF: 01/02/03/04/05/07/08]:
Following the procedure as descibed in Observations of drizzle in nocturnal marine stratocumulus by vanZanten et al, 2005 data files have been created for each circular flight (RF01- RF05, RF07 and RF08) during DYCOMS-II. For each horizontal flight leg lognormal fits have been made to 2 min averages of the cloud droplet size distribution and the drizzle drop size distribution separately. The files contain the values for N, Dg and s2g; the three variables which specify the lognormal fit. Estimated uncertainties of N, Dg and s2g are also given, together with 2 min average values for time, aircraft height, latitude, longitude, liquid water specific humidity and cloud cover. Specifications on the type of leg are also included. Data was processed and compiled by Margreet C. van Zanten [email].
- LIDAR [download]:
this NetCDF file summarizes the lidar derived cloud top heights for the three radar/lidar legs for each of the circular flights (RF01-RF05, RF07 and RF08). Cloud edge is defined based on a sharp increase in backscatter, and compares well with radar derived cloud top heights. Note that data is not available for every Radar circle for every flight, but at least two circles are available for most flight
- GCSS RF01 Results [download]:
this NetCDF file summarizes the results from the RF01 LES intercomparision published by Stevens et al., 2005. Data is summarized according to the mean, stddev, min, max, and first and third quartile. All of the results have been interpolated onto a fixed spatial and temporal grid . NetCDF files from individual groups are tabulated here.
