RHI cross section of clear-air return within the CBL of radar reflectivity(top) and Doppler velocity (bottom) at 2304:54 UTC 17 April 1995. Range rings and azimuths are every 5 km and 30 degrees ,respectively. The black line on this and succeeding RHI images represents the approximate location of the ground.

The radar reflectivity (top figure) shows the top of the mixed layer is about 2-2.5 Km AGL; the Doppler velocity (bottom figure) shows a continuous velocity field exists throughout this layer (positive and negative velocities in the figure represent radial motions away and toward the radar, respectively. )
