AMD103 stands for "AM"trak "D"iesel "103"mph. They are called "The first of Genesis series" Basically, they are designed based on GE Dash-8 (Dash8-40B and Dash8-40BW) freight locomotives. This GE made locomotive has 4000hp, and delivered since 1993 with number 800 series. The common name of them is P40.
P42DC are also Grnesis locos with number series from 1 to 100 for Amtrak intercity service. 101-111 are P42DC, too, but for Northeast Corridor service. 112-120 are Amtrak West P42DC.
P32AC-DM is Genesis II with the same car body as previous Genesis locos, but it has AC traction motors and can operate in diesel mode and third rail electric modes. They are numbered in #700 series, and replaced the old FL9.
